Government concerned about ‘tier one’ contractor finances?

‘Cast Consultancy chief executive Mark Farmer, author of the report repeatedly quoted by government ministers and civil servants since its publication last year, said problems witnessed at listed construction giants Carillion, Interserve and Galliford Try revealed fundamental problems.’

It appears concerns are compounded by a recent Highways England response to an FoIA request:
Question: is the contractor to who you have given Areas 6 and 8 involved in your investigation about corruption raised in Parliament?
Answer: We are currently looking into allegations in relation to the costing of Kier’s claims in Area 9
