Take care! One in four major roads pose a skid danger because they are in urgent need of resurfacing work
- 26 per cent of A-roads and motorways ‘required further investigation’
Drivers are in danger of skidding on more than a quarter of major roads and motorways in England, figures reveal. Despite the billions pumped into improving roads, many still urgently need resurfacing. A report by the Department of Transport yesterday showed the risk of skidding is at its highest level since the data was first collected almost a decade ago. Some 26 per cent of A-roads and motorways ‘required further investigation’ between 2013/14 and 2015/16 due to concerns over they were too slippery.
